Tech Days Canada 2009 Ottawa

Today was the first day of Tech Days Canada 2009, Ottawa edition.  The day looked like this.

Developing for the Microsoft-Based Platform

Colin Melia Silverlight 3
Peter Henry Expression Blend for Developers
Daniel Crenna Building Modular Applications Using Silverlight and WPF
Colin Melia Optimizing Your Applications for the Windows 7 User Experience

My Expression Blend presentation wasn't too bad, room for improvements in the future.  Special thanks to Christian Beauclair and Joey deVilla for giving me the chance to present.  Although I was nervous, I loved every moment of it!  Also special thanks toLouis-Philippe Pinsonneault for help with the presentation.

The best thing of the day, well two actually, one was access to the presenters and knowledgable people to bounce ideas off of is incredible, and second was SB and BC were there to support me!  Thanks guys!

The networking potential at these events is also not to be underestimated.  The number of people you can meet, shoot the gab with and share/bounce ideas with is INCREDIBLE!  Where else can you meet and talk tech for hours on end?  Outside of the ODNC I mean?!  LOL

Here are a few snapshots I took during the day today.  I hope you enjoy them as much as I did taking them (especially the video of Joey deVilla and his trademark accordian video! LOL)

Well, it's time to try out some homework.  Yup, homework.  We were given a chance for an XBox draw, BUT you have to create and upload an Azure application to be eligible, so I'm going to try that out now.  Hey, it's not the XBox I'm in it for, but the new/cool thing to learn about.  I'll post later about it.  Now it's time to grab a coffee and get coding!
