iPhoneAre you starting off doing iPhone development?  Not sure where to start?  Read on for a very cool site I found which could help jump start your learning!

iPhoneAre you looking at learning how to develop for your new iPhone/iPod Touch?  If you are, very cool!  I'm juuuuuuust thinking of getting into it too.  While doing my investigations, I came across a FREE iPhone course at Stanford Univeristy!  Very cool!  Yes, you read that correctly, I said the price was FREE!  Nada, zilch, 0, nothing, null, nil!!!!!!!!  How's that for breaking down $$$$ barriers to get into iPhone dev?!

Standford News about free iPhone Course

According to the news article (dated 04-01-2009, and no, it wasn't an April Fool's day joke), "Want to know how to write programs for the iPhone and iPod touch? Beginning this week, a Stanford computer science class on that buzzworthy topic will be available online to the general public for free."

For course details, check out the link CS 193P IPhone Application Development.  You'll see all the different lectures, WITH appropriate downloads!  I did read that IF you're interested, grab everything in one shot cause if you JUUUUUST happen to be visiting in between semesters, you might be SOL for all the downloads.  So grab while you can!

I'm looking at the first lesson, and it does feel very much like a university course, BUT, I NEVER had heard of THESE types of computer science courses!  This is VERY COOL!  I wonder if Microsoft will ever try to coax Waterloo or Carleton to give one of these types of courses for the WM7?  Things to make you go hhhhhmmmmm........

So, now that you can get into iPhone dev inexpensively, what's holding you back?  Hardware?  hhhmmm Check out VMWare, apparently they have a Mac VM!  Thanks to CI and SB, I'm about to do exactly that!  Thank you very much guys!

Now that you know about a free iPhone App Dev course, it's time to grab a coffee and get coding!
