Ottawa IT Day is coming in less than two weeks to Algonquin College on Sat April 17th. Have you registered yet? Read on for the link to register and find out more information. (Formerly called Ottawa Code Camp)
Ottawa IT Day 2010 is coming April 17th at Algonquin College, register now if you want CHOW for lunch! http://ottawacodecamp.ca/Pages2010/Registration.aspx
If you're familiar with Ottawa Code Camp from the previous two years, this is the same event, but expanded to encompass the equaled IT involvement. This year there are four tracks, IT Pro, SQL, .NET and Silverlight. As you can see, there is one focused on IT, one on DBAs, and two on developers, more specifically .NET and Silverlight devs.
I have a vested interest with the Silverlight presentation track as I'm helping Colin Melia, Sylvain Boucher and Louis-Philippe Pinsonneault with the Silerlight presentations. For this track, we've taken a bit of a different tact from the regular "show your code" type of presentations. We'll be building a Silverlight application throughout the day. At the end of the day, you'll learn how and see a Silverlight application built, data put out on the cloud and have the app put onto the cool new Windows Phone 7! Very cool stuff if you ask me! LOL The key here is you'll get to see some cool technology presented to you by other local developers who you can talk shop with before and after the presentations.
We hope to see you there and please register early! The earlier you register the better your chances of getting STUFF, including lunch!
Now it's time to grab a coffee and get coding!
PS If you're CURIOUS as to WHAT we'll be presenting, check out this xml (https://ottawacodecamp.svn.codeplex.com/svn/Silverlight/Sessions.xml). If you pump that link into your browser, you'll probably get some confused goggly-gunk cause it's not an HTML file but a...well.....wait for it.....an XML file! DOH! haha But seriously, the extension is XML, what did you expect? LOL It's not a big deal, BUT it does give you a HINT into part of what we'll be building.
