Do you do WP7 development with the current WP7 CTP? Read on before you install VS2010 RTM!!!!!!!
Heard the news?! VS2010 RTM (Release To Manufacturing aka Gold version aka the version everyone gets until the next SP that is) was announced today! YAHOO!
BUT WAIT JUST A SECOND! Are you doing WP7 dev? If you are, by all means, download the Premium or Ultimate versions, but DON'T INSTALL! I repeat, DON'T INSTALL! The WP7 CTP tools/SDKs/etc aren't compatible with VS2010 RTM and ONLY compatible with VS2010 RC (Release Candidate). You can register your email with Microsoft (Thanks toLP for the URL and tip) to get notified when the WP7 ARE released, but until then you can just enjoy the binary setup program (looks nice eh? LOL jk).
PS It seems like the website MS put up for email notifications didn't quite go through the same QA as most other products cause you might have to hit the F5 once or twice (or more?) to get the email to actually go through.
So now that you know NOT install the VS 2010 RTM until a later date, it's time to grab a coffee and get coding!

Tim Heuer comments about WP7 tools working with VS2010 RTM in a few weeks. http://forums.silverlight.net/forums/t/175181.aspx That's cool. If it were available today or this week, I'd be questioning........"WTF is going on?! If it were THAT easy, you should have done it right the first time!"
But since it's taking a bit longer, I'm assuming the hooks into VS go pretty deep (like Borg implants? LOL). And I would expect it to take a bit longer to get it right. The OTHER bonus to this......HOPEFULLY, keeping our fingers crossed, the emulator will be vastly improved in a few weeks! THAT would be awesome!
