AutomagicallyHave you heard someone say the word "automagically" lately?  Ever wonder if it's in fact a REAL word? Read on!

AutomagicallyI've been using the made up word "Automagically" for quite some time now.  I think I started using it back when I was doing product support for Microsoft many, many years ago.  Well, I always wondered, is it in fact a real word?

I just googled it, and to be honest, it doesn't look like it cause, well....the frst two links that come up for me are for "Web definitions" and "Urban Dictionary" which are usually code for this is a slang word.  No biggie.  But what is it that DOES make a word, a real word?

Everyonce in a while, the dictionary people (e.x. Websters) add new words to their dictionaries but what are their criteria.  Merriam-Webster sites one simple reason, usage.  That's it, that's all, if it's used, accepted and people are comfortable with it, then it eventualy gets added.  Well, I think if Disney is using the word "Automagically" over the entrance doors at their Mickey's PhilharMagic 3D movie in Orlando, I think it's pretty safe to say, it's in wide use! LOL

Now that I have a bit of justification for continuing the use of the word automagically, it's time to grab a coffee and get coding!
