Ottawa IT Camp, April 14th, 2010, Algonquin College Call for Speakers! Hello everyone, spring time is around the corner and that means it's time for Ottawa's best and free technical conference, Ottawa IT Camp. On April 14th, we are celebrating our 5th magnificent year! We are calling on you to help make it our best yet! We are asking for you to get involved! At this time, we're emailing to ask you to present in one (or more :>) of our four tracks, IT, SQL, FUN-damentals (dev) and Web (dev). A few months ago, the conference organizers did an online survey and found out attendees want to hear about development fundamentals, MVC, HTML5, SQL Server and Windows 8 materials. If you want or can present, for one hour, on any of these topics, I encourage you to get involved! The process this year has been automated. The submission deadline is March 1st, 2012 for topic submissions and two weeks after that, notifications will be sent out. This gives you the entire month of February, but don't wait! If you KNOW of a topic you're just chomping at the bit to present, get it in ASAP! Life is unpredictable, just in case a speaker cannot make his session on the day, we would appreciate it if you have a second topic so we can hot swap at the last minute if required. Knowing who is available with an optional topic would greatly help the coordinators on the day. As in the past years, we will again be distributing all presenter material via our Ottawa IT Camp CodePlex project. Please respect our audience and be prepared to make your presentation material available the day of the conference. If you have ANY questions or concerns with this requirement, please email the conference organizers and we'll be happy to address any/all questions. Please understand, we are hoping/expecting a lot of presentation submissions for four tracks. Not everyone can be selected, it's just not feasible. Even if your presentation is not selected, we still hope to see you out at the conference, participating and helping us make this the best free technical conference in Ottawa! "Ok, I'm interested, NOW WHAT?" First off, you have to create your speaker profile, then give the details of your presentation, repeat for multiple topic submissions and that's it!!!!!! If you're still looking for more information, please visit Peter's blog which gives you a blow by blow account of what you can/will expect.
