Ottawa Code Camp

The Ottawa Code Camp organizing group have released the date for this years event, Saturday, April 25, 2009 (Date being modified, rooms unavailable at Algonquin College due to exams, potential dates are May 2 or 9, 2009)!  If you're wondering what the fuss is all about, read on.

Code Camp's manifesto states this is for developers, by developers.  In other words, expect to see Visual Studio and code, lots and lots of code!  PPTs are frowned upon and marketing types even more so!  This is geek/coders heaven!  This is code heads talking to people who understand there are "10" type of people in this world. :>>>>  Yes, a bit of geek humour there. :>>>>  The event is FREE, that's right, free, as in no $$$$, zilch, nothing, nyet, nada, non, pas d'argent!  I think you'll agree you can't beat that price!  And this is one time you get MORE than your money's worth!

The format is very similar to TechEd, PDC or DevTeach where there are different tracks (three so far this year, they're usually dev, db and IT focused but that could change), they're just over an hour each and every presenter is very approachable for Q&A.  You get to see some fantastic material on new technologies as well as things that have been around for a while but continue to have focus for developers.

The registration page is just a place holder for now but I strongly suggest registering when it is working!  Last year was a great turnout and MANY more people showed up than what registered.  Although that is fantastic, there was only enough lunches for those who registered.  It's a full day event and going without lunch can make for a loooooong day.

With any luck, I hope to present at this year's event, I hope to see you there!  If you do go, please stop by to say hi and let talk some tech tid bits! :>
